Attendance
Regular attendance is absolutely essential to successful schoolwork.  Absence works hardships on students and teachers alike, so please make every effort to ensure your child's regular attendance

The school day is from 9:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Upon a student's return from being absent, he must present a note to the office within two (2) days of absence for admittance to class.  With all absences, make-up assignments will be completed to the teacher's satisfaction.

The following are NOT ACCEPTABLE excuses for absence or early dismissal from school:

To take music or other lessons

To help someone who is ill

To entertain friends

Due to lack of proper clothing

To help care for children

To help with housework

Construction

Any student with unexcused absences of more than 20% on any given report period is subject to dismissal.  Only in exceptional cases may this be waived.

If an emergency should occur, making it necessary for your child to leave school early, the parent is to inform the school office.  The parent is to go directly to the office and sign the sign-out sheet.  Do not go to the classroom, the child will be contacted and sent to the office by the teacher.

Not only is tardiness detrimental to the child's character and school progress, it disrupts those who are already in school.  When late for school, the child is to go directly to the office and request a tardy slip.  This slip is to be filled out and taken to the teacher to be kept on file.  Excessive tardiness will affect the child's grades.  Parents will be informed of excessive tardiness.  Three unexcused tardies are equal to one absence.
